My family could possibly be moving to Chicago and we are looking for a neighborhood where we can rent a 3+ apartment or 2+or 3+ house/condo. We are looking for a neighborhood that is safe and is surrounded by safe areas. We are not opposed to diversity (asian, hispanic, black etc.) Any tips, my parents don’t mind commuting.

What kind of commitment is involved in purchasing a macaw?
I have loved macaws since I was a little girl. I’m 20 now, and getting ready to get married and move to Boston. I would eventually like to buy a macaw, but I was wondering exactly what I’ll need for taking care of the bird. How big would the cage be, will I need to wait until I live in a house vs. an apartment, what do I feed it, does it need exercise, etc.

Why are the ants all over my cats food? And what can I do to get rid of them?
If I leave food even a little bit of food in my cat’s bowl for any amount of time day or night (I would suspect that ants have no concept of time), when I look in the bowl again there are these little tiny black ants going in and out of the fool bowl and intermixed with the food. This only happens when I put the food bowl on the tile kitchen floor and the tile bathroom floor. I have put out ant traps but they didn’t seem to work and I was worried that my cat might get into it. I am afraid to spray anything in case it gets on the food or the cat injests it somehow. My apartment is kept clean, just a bit cluttered with clothing, no food on the floor to attract these darn things. I do live in a house with other apartments, could the ants be coming from them? Help!!! I need to get rid of the ants and be able to keep a bit of food for my cat in the bowl when I am not home in the day time!!!

What is the best Wireless Camera that is used remotely through the internet for viewing?
My husband is deployed and I am 7 months pregnant. Since he wont be around after the baby is born we want to get cameras that we can set up in the baby’s room so that he can log on to the internet in Iraq and see the baby whenever he wants. Where can I find these cameras? How do we set it up to use it through the internet?
Well i knew someone once and her husband was deployed a few months after they had their child. They had cameras set up around the apartment that looked like fire sprinklers that were mounted on the ceiling and her husband could just log onto the internet and see everything in their house and watch the baby walk and play, everything he was missing. We have a webcam but I also cant be logged on the computer and sitting in front of the computer all day long with an infant.

How loud is a lovebird compared to a cockatiel?
I currently have a lovebird and a parakeet and I am looking at adopting a cockatiel; however I live in an apartment. I am worried about the noise. I am told that this bird is a "very" happy bird and loves to talk and whistle. I just need to know the comparison to the lovebird, which is pretty loud in my opinion.

Introducing new cats when moving into a new home that neither pet owner has lived in before?
Okay, I have a cat, and my boyfriend has one. In the future we plan on moving into an apartment together, instead of me moving into his house or him moving into mine. So we have a unique cat situation. We won’t be introducing cats to a house that already has cats. So not only will we have the trauma of a new house, but throw in a new cat as well. Neither of them will have the "home field" advantage. How difficult will this be?

Would a landlord let you put down wood laminate floor in a apartment?
Moving out of my mom’s place soon but I can’t find an apartment that doesn’t have carpet. Getting a puppy this upcoming spring and I just don’t like carpet because it makes the apartment hotter and it feels gross when it gets matted down in hallways and stuff.
Just about all the building will allow pets in the area for a pet deposit.
